Ready-to-use Antibody for Immunohistochemistry

Background

Desmin is an intermediate filament protein with a molecular weight of 50-55 kDa. It forms the cytoskeleton of skeletal muscle together with microfilaments and microtubules.
During the conversion of normal to neoplastic cells, the expression of this protein is maintained.

Reagents sufficient for about 60-120 tissue sections

  • 1 dropper bottle HISTOPRIME® Desmin (Bottle, 6 ml)

Antigen

Purified desmin from human muscle

Specificity

Desmin in striated, smooth and cardiac muscle cells.

Abnormal Tissue

Soft tissue sarcomas
Rhabdomyosarcoma
Leiomyosarcoma

Clone

D33

Isotype

Mouse lgG1

Fusion Partners

The monoclonal antibody was obtained from culture supernatant of mouse hybridoma cells and is available in ready-to-use stabilized form.

The monoclonal antibody (Kon D33) with LINARIS CatNo E057 reacts with human skeletal and cardiac muscles as well as with smooth muscle cells. It shows broad interspecies reactivity, so that desmin is recognized in rat, chicken and hamster in addition to human protein. Other intermediate filaments are not labeled.

Pretreatment

Do not perform proteolytic pretreatment.
(Such pretreatment may destroy the antigen!).

Incubation Period

1 hour at room temperature

Usage

Ready-to-use in PBS, BSA, NaN3 (0,09%) pH 7,4(*) suitable on cryostat sections and on formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections.
