Background

Calretinin is a calcium binding protein (31 kDa) and is mostly found in the CNS and retina. In addition, recent studies have shown that calretinin antibodies recognize mesothelioma.

Reagents sufficient for about 50-100 tissue sections

Recombinant rat calretinin was used to immunize rabbits.

The polyclonal antibody E070 reacts with mesotheliomas but not with adenocarcinomas. Thus, a very reliable differentiation between these two tumors can be achieved.

Microwave treatment citrate buffer pH 6.0

Incubation Period

1 hour at room temperature

Usage

Ready-to-use in PBS, BSA, NaN3 (0,09%) pH 7,4(*) suitable on cryostat sections and on formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections.

Abnormal Tissue

Mesothelioma.

Recommended Secondary Reagents

Alkaline Phosphatase Vectastain® ABC Rabbit IgG (Vector CatNo AK-5001) and SubstrateKit e.g. Vector® Red (Vector CatNo SK-5100).
Peroxidase Vectastain® ABC-Elite Rabbit IgG (Vector CatNo PK-6101) and Peroxidase Substrate-Kit e.g. DAB (LINARIS CatNo E108) or HistoGreen (LINARIS CatNo E109 ).
