Under our brand Histoprime, BIOZOL now offers not only high-quality validated antibodies but also the corresponding blocking serua for immunohistochemistry.
Histoprime Horse blocking serum for IHC is produced in our laboratory in Germany with serum from intra-European sources. We keep sufficient stocks of Histoprime serum at BIOZOL in Eching to ensure short delivery times. We can also provide custom fillings and pretreatments upon request.
Normal goat serum can be used for blocking non-specific conserved sequence and/or Fc receptor binding. Typically, the serum used for blocking is from a different species than the species in which the primary antibody was raised. Often the blocking serum is from the species in which the secondary antibody was raised.
When researchers choose their serum, an important factor that should be taken into consideration is the source, and the traceability of the origin of the serum. Our system of vertical integration allows us to be certain of the origin and traceability of all our source materials. The serum is imported and treated in compliance with the European regulations. It is heat treated at 56°C for 30 minutes.
Recently, there have been increasing problems with the import of animal sera from third countries into the EU. This is why BIOZOL has decided to launch its own series of blocking sera, based on sources that is available from our warehouse in Germany.
Our system of vertical integration allows us to be certain of the origin and traceability of all our source materials. The serum is imported and treated in compliance with the European regulations. It is heat treated at 56°C for 30 minutes.
Donkey serum for immunohistochemical blocking is the first product that is released in this new area and it will be followed by serum of other relevant species shortly.
